We are fast approaching one of the most important periods in the life of a Legion Member. I am referring to the Annual Poppy Campaign. This year this Campaign runs from 25 Oct to 11 Nov 2019. We will require Volunteers to assist with this Campaign. Each year we have local merchants who allow us to put Poppy Boxes in their place of business as well as allowing Volunteers to distribute Poppies to the General Public at the entrances to their business.

This takes quite a few Volunteers to accomplish this task. I must remind all Members that when you were sworn in as Members of Branch 594 part of your oath was that would actively take part in the Poppy Campaign.

There will be sign up sheets in the front lobby of the Branch beginning in early October, however if you are interested in Volunteering before the sheets go up please see myself or Comrade John Antaya, or leave your name and phone number at the bar and you will be contacted by a member of the Poppy Committee. Volunteers will be assigned a shift and a location. Shifts normally run approximately 3 hours in duration but can be adjusted if required.
All monies raised during this Campaign assists Veterans and/or their dependants when required, in accordance with the regulations published in the Poppy Manual. None of the money raised is used for Branch Operations.

We also require some Volunteers with a vehicle to distribute Poppy Boxes to the businesses and stores on 25 October 2019, and during the Campaign check on these boxes to ensure the boxes are kept filled with Poppies and cash is removed on a timely basis.

Comrades I know many of you cannot, for various reasons, assist in this most important task, however, all Branch Members will be receiving a letter asking for donations to this Campaign and I ask that you consider this method of assisting, if you are able.
